Gender Analysis of the Film “The Poet and the Fallen Soul”
Abstract
The article deals with the representation of the feminine gender model in pre-Revolutionary Russian cinema. The image of a prostitute and the factors of its shaping are explored. One of the most interesting phenomena in focus is the feminine image created by Alexander Blok. Boris Tchaikovsky’s film “The Poet and the Fallen Soul” (1918) representing this tendency is analysed in the article.
