Adultery in Russian Cinema: From the “Thaw” to the End of the Soviet Epoch
Abstract
The article surveys the portrayal of adultery in the Russian cinema of 1950-1990s. The theme of the crisis in romantic and family relations is matched up with the stages of the country’s social and cultural development, ideological crisis and the process of feminization of the culture.
